the story she belongs to involves a separate world where magic is possible-
magic users are controversial here, some countries worship them as walking gods, others make them royalty, some are just normal citizens, and in others they're executed or lynched

then, there is the Magic City, Sethorn. Magic capital of the world, it sits on no-mans land and belongs to no country, ruled separately as its own city-state by one family who's magic is known to be the purest, closest to "the beginning"
Taiyun belongs to this family, she's been chosen as heir, even though she's 4th in line (her 3 older siblings either died or did something that made them unfit) her older sister who ran away from their family and hid in the underground societies likes to use this power to fit her agenda-taking down the city-
the dragon clip was a gift from this sister, so was the gray fan toy she holds in front of her, the fan behind her is a weapon that she uses while casting wind magic- her specialty

at first she goes along with it all because she loves her sister so much, but in the end she doesnt want to be heir either so she leaves it to her brother- WHO IS THE ONLY DUMBASS TO WANT THIS JOB- and goes to be an adviser to a prince from one of the desert nations, the one who helped her realize she's been a chess piece the entire time
